The fourth meeting of the Grant Committee in the framework of the Rural Economy Development Project was held on June 30, 2022 in the building of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, National Bank of Tajikistan, employee of the Rural Economy Development Project of the PIU for Access to Green and Rural Development Finance under the Ministry of Finance RT, Grant Management Company and Grant Enablers companies.

At the meeting of the Committee, 17 (seventeen) business plans for agribusiness, tourism and related sectors of Khatlon and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Regions were submitted for consideration. The presented business plans were mainly focused on the opening of small hotels (hostels), processing, packaging and storage of agricultural products (organization of cold storage), the development of crafts (chakan), the purchase of necessary materials and equipment for hotels and teahouses.

As a result of the complex examination 14 business plans were supported for funding from the project, and 3 more business plans were returned for further development.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the Rural Economy Development project, four meetings of the Grants Committee have been held to date, in total 46 business plans for the development of agribusiness, tourism and related industries in cities and districts of Khatlon region and GBAO have received support for funding from the Project.
